Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a part-time Driver – Shuttle Bus for the Parking & Transportation department. The Driver – Shuttle Bus will be responsible for operating a shuttle bus on assigned routes, transporting students and staff; performing a pre-trip safety inspection before operating the shuttle bus; assisting disabled riders by utilizing lifts and securement devices; keeping the shuttle bus clean and fueled; identifying repairs as needed and performing additional duties as assigned.

This position requires working a varied schedule, 20-30 hours per week to include evenings, during the spring and fall semesters. The incumbent will not work during the spring, summer, and winter breaks; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

This position is designated as Essential Personnel. In the event of a campus emergency, special event, closure to maintain campus safety or building operations, this position may be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.

This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.

Required Qualifications

One year of experience driving vehicles that require a commercial driver’s license.

Additional Experience Requirements:
This position requires a valid Nevada Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s license and Passenger Endorsement.
