Job Description

The University of Nevada, School of Medicine Physiology & Cell Biology Department, Reno is seeking candidates for the position of Anatomy Lab Manager. The successful candidate will manage both the medical student anatomy dissection lab and the Advanced Surgical Training Lab. This position will require you to work with a diverse team of people, staff, and faculty from different backgrounds. As Anatomy Lab Manager, you will be required to demonstrate leadership and conflict resolution skills. Duties for this position include but are not limited to, cadaver procurement and embalming, anatomy lab operations management, surgical training lab scheduling and operations management and anatomical donations program database management. In addition to the technical skills necessary to carry out the above tasks, the successful candidate must be skilled in human interactions with medical students, family members of donors, doctors seeking professional skills training and directors of similar programs nationwide. Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications are a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution with a major in mortuary science and combined experience equaling four years, or a Master’s Degree and two years, of experience in: the internal workings of an anatomical laboratory or similar lab experience, the rules and regulations associated with the Uniform Anatomical Gift act as it pertains to the use of cadaveric material for educational purposes, funeral home experience, and familiarity with access data base excel and word.
