Job Description

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is seeking applicants for a Custodial Worker 2. TM

The Custodial Worker 2 is a working lead position. Under general supervision, incumbents in addition to performing the full range of duties described in the series concept, must prioritize work flow; train subordinate employees; fill in for other departmental subordinates, fellow lead employees, and supervisory absences for the main campus and satellite campuses; repair and service custodial equipment such as buffers and vacuum cleaners; participate with snow removal; execute campus opening/closing procedures; ensure security systems are functioning properly and report security deficiencies; and perform other duties as assigned.

Must work weekend schedule. The assigned hours for this position are as follows: Tuesday – Saturday 6:00am – 3:00pm. Schedule may change based on departmental needs.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months as a Custodial Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Experience Requirements:

• This position requires having a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.

• This position requires experience in all aspects of custodial work.

• This position requires experience caring and maintaining hard floors and carpets.

• This position requires experience operating and maintaining custodial equipment.

• This position requires lead worker and/or trainer experience.

• This position requires the ability to operate a computer.
