Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno, School of Community Health Sciences is seeking a candidate for a nine-month, state-funded, tenure-track position in Social and Behavioral Health at the rank of Assistant Professor. A focus on quantitative approaches and implementation and dissemination research is preferred.

The School of Community Health Sciences has over 1,700 declared majors in the undergraduate program with another 70 graduate students in the Master of Public Health program and the recently launched PhD program. The successful applicant is expected to engage in both independent and collaborative research projects, teach successfully in the graduate and undergraduate programs, and engage in the development of the new School of Public Health.

The University of Nevada, Reno is the State of Nevada’s historic land-grant institution and is home to approximately 21,000 students, including nearly 3,000 graduate students. The University is currently classified as a Carnegie “Higher Research Activity” institution and offers an array of degree programs at all levels. Required Qualifications

1. PhD in Social and Behavioral Health by 07/01/2018, preferably from an accredited school of Public Health, with appropriate training and experience.
2. Ability to develop and maintain an independent program of research, including potential to secure external research support.
3. Demonstrated ability or potential to teach graduate and undergraduate students.
4. Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups in a multidisciplinary environment.

Preferred Qualifications

A focus on quantitative approaches and implementation and dissemination research.
