Job Description

The Department Manager, Operations and Finance is accountable for the overall administration and operating results of a basic science department within the University of Nevada Reno, School of Medicine. The position maintains focus on management of pre- and post-award grant functions to enhance grant activity within the department. Additionally, this position is responsible for the strategic planning process, financial management, academic affairs, and the overall administration of the department. This position manages all fiscal activity, proactively monitors budgetary compliance, and evaluates the financial performance of the department. The Department Manager for Operations and Finance supervises the departmental administrative staff and reports to the Director for Basic Science Operations and Administration with additional accountability to the Department Chair.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of related professional work experience.
Master’s Degree and 1 year of related professional work experience.

Relevant Experience: a combination of healthcare, research, education, and/or academic medical experience, budget and finance, program management.
