Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 2 for the Office of Medical Education, Neurology department. The primary responsibilities are:

- 60% Support for coordination of the Neurology Clerkship and Electives rotations, including evaluations setup and tracking in One45, scheduling students in educational experiences, preparing orientations, attending monthly Year 3-4 meetings, preparing documents, acting as liaison between students, faculty, and training sites, and coordinating credentialing.

- 25% Basic accounts maintenance, travel paperwork, and other clerical duties.

- 15% Administrative support for the department chair.

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Experience Requirements:
- This position requires having a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.

- This position requires intermediate experience in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting director-level management.

Coordination of multiple detailed programs or processes.
