Job Description

The School of Community Health Sciences is searching for two lecturers, non-tenure track, 12 month positions to develop and teach the newly created online MPH in Public Health Practice. The successful applicants will primarily teach online graduate courses for the MPH but will have opportunities to teach in the classroom depending on the number of online courses scheduled for each semester. The Public Health Practice MPH includes the core MPH classes and adds concentration specific courses that address administration/policy, data management, fiscal management, surveillance, program planning and evaluation. The School of Community Health Sciences is CEPH accredited and has 2 baccalaureate degrees, four other mph specializations and a PhD program with two specializations. Course development is well supported through a partnership with Pearson.

In the last decade, Reno has been actively engaged in diversifying its economy by attracting high-tech companies such as Tesla, Switch, and Apple. Nevada is also one of seven states without a personal income tax. San Francisco, Napa/Sonoma, Yosemite and Lassen National Parks, and the Black Rock Desert are all within four hours drive or less.

Required Qualifications

A MPH degree or relevant Master’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications

A doctoral degree and experience in public health is preferred. Teaching in an on-line environment, preferably in graduate courses is preferred.
